Janet Ren Wang

I am a storyteller at my core, and everything I do is driven by the human “why."

While my career has mostly lived in enterprise marketing, building integrated programs for technical software, I’ve always been a creative storyteller. Journalism was my original training ground, and that instinct has followed me from early content and PR roles to my current work at Omnissa (formerly VMware), where I take complex product systems and turn them into narratives people can actually understand.

Outside of work,
I still chase stories wherever they call me. I am a writer and designer for Unscene Magazine, a local publication focused on human interest stories and SF art and culture. I’m also a founder and creative director of an independent jewelry business called goldengrooved, featuring nature-inspired designs.

In past lives, I’ve reported on the Santa Barbara housing crisis, designed a computer game from scratch, and collaborated in a team of artists and engineers to build a therapy device for children with cerebral palsy.
